Wed nes day (How I say it so I spell it right)

23/365

I am going to be brave and start tonight’s post off with a terrible, post-cry picture of me. Why? Because I’m brave? Naa, just to prove to you guys that I’m havin’ a total bummer of a day! Buuutt, since you lovelies don’t come here to read downer stuff, I’ll keep it short and sweet/sour :)

I hurt my knee last night. I woke up this morning and it was very, very tight. I alternated heat and ice off and on all day and it still hurts pretty bad. That means no run or cardio tonight. I have a fear that this is going to really work against my running schedule and that this may impact my ability to complete the Modesto Midnight 1/2 Marathon at the end of August that I just signed up for

1/2 Marathon on August 28th.. Paid for! I'm Offficially IN!

I am hoping it gets better in a couple of days.

I have really started to enjoy running and become very attracted to the healthy eating & running for goals lifestyle. I feel like I relate to a lot of what is said in the blogs I read that are about the same thing. So hurting my knee is a total bummer. Two and a half years ago I hurt my knee running and it was sore for three months :( I am keeping my fingers crossed that with heat and ice and really letting it rest for a few days, I’ll be back to running by next week. Please keep your fingers crossed for me too!

Anyway, for other (non-bloggable) reasons, I had a crummy day. I didn’t take pictures of breakfast (I had a peanut butter chocolate chip Clif bar) or lunch (same exact lunch as yesterday–1 cup of oatmeal with an Orowheat sandwich thin with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1/2 of banana), but I did take a few quick pics of dinner, which was half of my leftover Togo’s salad & an Eating Right pepperoni pizza.

'Za & Salad

Hot Pizza.. well, almost pizza ;)

I was going to go on a walk with the dog after dinner but after checking the mail I realized my knee didn’t want to go on a walk. My knee wanted to be propped up resting, so I snapped a quick pic of Leon and went back inside.

"Who's There?"

When it gets a bit darker, my husband and I are going for a little drive so I can do some kooky night photography. That is, if I can stay awake long enough to do it!

I hope everyone had a better Wednesday than me and I can’t wait for the next couple of weeks (starting with tonight..) because I am going to be doing some killer fun giveaways! Stay tuned my friends :)

Don't cry!!!! It will get better sooner that you think. Embrace the fact that your body needs some TLC right now and enjoy the down time while you can! I was sick a few weeks ago (I NEVER get sick) and was sooo mad about it! But It gave me the opportunity to relax and be gentle with my body for a week…which allowed for not just a physical break from the workouts, but also a psychological one as well (since I didn't feel guilty about not working out and knew it was something I had to do!)

Sera: Thanks, me too! I think I'd give up anything to have my knee heal so I continue training for the 1/2. Is it sad it means that much to me?

Britta: I'm trying to embrace it but I have put my mind and body into training so much the last two weeks that this just feels like a failure and it sucks! But I will try and enjoy this down time and hope that I recover quickly!
