I didn’t get a chance to plan out many meals for this week so I’m kind of winging it! Tonight I made an interesting combination: Whole Wheat Pasta, Lean Ground Turkey Breast, Tomato Sauce, and Broccoli. On the side? Broiled fresh Brussel Sprouts and half of a Mediterranean flat-bread.
I cooked one half a box of whole wheat pasta, one pound of lean ground turkey breast, 1/2 can of tomato sauce and a head of broccoli. It was a pretty good combo… but even better after I added Italian Seasoning.
I would make this again but add more spices.. it was a bit too bland for me. Or maybe I’d make it again with out the pasta and use it as an open-pita hot sandwich filling? With lettuce and lots of pepper? Maybe I’ll try that
I cut up fresh brussel sprouts and tossed them in 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and pepper then broiled them on high for about 12 minutes.. maybe longer.
Matt prefers fresh brussles to frozen, but I like both. We had plenty brussels & pasta left over so I might be having this same meal again.. for lunch! Overall it was a successful random dinner, thrown together as I was just getting home from work.
Yeah, I swear I didn’t just roll out of bed.. I don’t know why I look so messy. And yes, I wear an apron when I cook. AND YES, I still managed to get tomato sauce on my green dress.
What’s one of your successful random dinner creations?
