Somedays are meant for eating out

Today was one of those days, I just didn’t know it.

For breakfast I had a Chocolate Brownie Clif Bar with Black Coffee (3 cups!).

I grabbed a Clif Bar this morning because I went into work early (around 6:30am) and I didn’t feel like making anything. This was a good breakfast. Okay, so far so good.

Then a couple hours later I was ready for a filling snack, so I made my usual Greek Yogurt, cut up medium Peach, and Honey Oat CLIF Crunch granola bar.

Parfait-Style!

When hand-peeling the fuzzy skin off of the peach (like I do everyday), I slightly cut my thumb, a la paper-cut style. Okay, no big deal. The snack was filling (could have been a meal, especially since I didn’t get that much exercise today) so no big deal on the thumb cut. Moving on.

For lunch I packed a bag of Multi-Grain Cheerios with Fat Free Milk. It just felt like a breakfast-for-lunch day.

It was a good idea, in theory. But by the time lunch rolled around, I could have gone for a sandwich and soup. But the bad part?

I used a spoon from work and it cut my lip. Injured eating cereal?! If anyone can do it, it’s me. :)

On the side I had crackers with Peanut Butter and a drizzle of Honey (TOM snack, what can I say):

Crackers, PB and Honey

This, like breakfast, was successful. Except for when the salt from the cracker went into the cut on my lip from the spoon and burned like a you-know-what! :)

Once my lip stop burning I was happy again, which was only a few minutes. Then I came home to make Homemade Sweet Potato Fries, Turkey Burgers on Sandwich Thins, Green Salad and Veggies. It sounded soo good!

Summer Dinner

Looks yummy, right? It was! The veggies were freezer veggies but they came out great. I love brussel sprouts but one of the grocery stores that I frequent doesn’t carry them fresh.

Anyway, the bad part about dinner? Making the homemade sweet potato fries!

Here’s what I started with:

Sweet Potatoes!

Ended up with:

Sweet Potato Fries

Toasty!

What happened: I started off using the wrong type of knife to cut the potatoes. It just wasn’t sharp enough, it slipped and I cut two of my fingers. Nothing deep like stitch-status but definitely two bleeders! It was quite a frenzy, what with two bloody fingers, burgers on the stove, a dog at my feet, the sink running.. it was crazy! ;) I’m okay, though. I switched knives for the last two potatoes and it got better but definitely still not worth it! Next time I want sweet potato fries, I’ll buy ‘em. But honestly, I think tonight burned me out :)

Oh, btw, I tried a new Sea Salt tonight and loved it!

Sea Salt!

Overall, the day wasn’t complete disaster but I did hurt myself more than I normally do! Maybe tomorrow will be more succesful? Let’s hope.

Day 38.

Sweet! You know a lot of the bloggers do that. They give the winner say 48 hours to contact them and if they don’t another winner is chosen. So really you’re just going by the blogging giveaway rules. :)
