Saturday Picnik, Cleaning & More

Angel Vine got an Afro!

Today has been rather uneventful but actually quite nice.

We had planned to go to San Francisco for the day and walk the Golden Gate Bridge. We’ve both been to SF so many times but neither of us have actually walked the GGB so we thought we’d load up the big camera and go! But then a mysterious lazy spell came over us and we didn’t wake up this morning until 10am! In case that’s not late to any of you bums out there (just kidding) let me just say that’s really late for us! I haven’t slept that late since high school, unless I was sick. But we felt GREAT when we woke up. And we both slept really well. I think we needed it, no? So after coffee, breakfast, a car wash and a gas up, we realized it’d be close to 1pm before we even got into the city and since it was 50 degrees there, we figured we’d wait for a day where we could leave earlier. The cold won’t both us but the late afternoon mixed with 50 degree air = fog which in turn = icky photographs! What did we do instead you ask?

Weeeellllll… we then thought about going hiking at Knight’s Ferry but thought better of it when we realized that you need to get there early, too. So then we decided we’d stay home, clean house, and just have a low-key day before tomorrow. Then tomorrow we are building our spare bedroom bedframe, cleaning out the garage (getting stuff ready for our yard sale), getting the home gym set up in the garage, and going to Costco. Busy busy! Today I washed, dried, & folded 90% of the laundry. For two people, we have A LOT of laundry. After a couple hours of laundry I realized this and thus, we cleaned out our closets. I did this recently so it was really just for Matt to make room for all his stuff!

I picked up some lunch for us at Togos, where I got the Farmers Market salad (only ate half.. those babies are TOO big) which had: iceberg, romaine, spinach lettuce and red onion, feta cheese, carrots, radishes, and carrots. It’s goood.

I had a side of Orowheat thin with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and half of a banana.

Classic Snack

Matt got half an Italian sandwich and half of the Farmer’s Market and I cut him up a small peach and small banana to go with it. Then we had green blueberry Iced tea.

(It was good but it reminds me of having a sore throat because I always make it hot when I am sick!)

When does the picnik come to play, right? Well a few of my fellow bloggers always talk about picnik.com and how it’s great to edit photos. I use Photoshop for nearly everything, but lately I have been posting from my laptop. Due to lame licensing restrictions, I don’t have photoshop on my laptop, only on my desktop. So instead of editing photos on my desktop and e-mailing them to myself and getting them on my laptop, I thought I’d give picnik a try. I like it because I can upload my HUGE pictures straight from my camera and edit & resize them right in the application. That is definitely a plus. It’s got a lot of the popular features from Photoshop on there, in it’s bare form, easiest to use with not that many options to manipulate and change. It’s got a handful of fonts from the font website I use, but options are basic. I am assuming this is because the bulk of Picnik’s users are people who want to do cool things to their photos but don’t have the time to learn photoshop, or the capability/desire. So overall picnik is cool. I will still go the photoshop route on my desktop but I might continue to use it on my laptop. I’ve found that I just really like customizing things myself so maybe that’s why my heart stays with PS :)

Anyway, tonight around 9pm Matt and I are going on a long, cool bike ride because I FINALLY GOT NEW BIKE TIRES! WAHOO! I will post the stats from that ride tomorrow. Happy Saturday :)
