This weekend I did lots of stuff. I cleaned out and organized my closet, producing 6 bags of unwanted clothes, shoes, purses, belts and swimsuits. The result? (In cell phone picture quality…)
When cleaning out my clothes, I came across about 5-7 articles of clothing that still had tags on them. Matt was laying on the bed helping me to determine which things to toss, which to keep. When I found these never-been-worn pieces of clothing, I received many side eyes from him. In my defense, some stuff just looks better online & is hard to return. Oh and my other defense is always “when I lose 10 lbs”. Weakness, I know. But I feel good about the 4 bags of clothes I got rid of. And Matt and I laid out all my shoes and eliminated all the ugly/worn out/stupid ones so that was good. It just feels good to get rid of crap, doesn’t it? Oh and the best part about getting rid of shoes means we ordered a few more pairs tonight
I’m excited to get them! Woo hoo to new shoes. And I finally re-organized my closets (mine & one of the guest bedrooms where I keep my books/scrap book stuff/games/etc) so I have top left short sleeved normal clothes in color order, bottom left long sleeved normal clothes in color order and right side dresses and work clothes in color order. Ahh, my world makes sense again.
I also made homemade croutons this weekend.
They were really good. I just sprayed two pieces of stale sourdough bread with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter spray and then put Italian seasoning on them (both sides). I cut them up into cubes and broiled them in the oven for about 6 minutes and that was that. Really easy. The reason I did it was because I had a bag of American green salad (nothing good in that mix) and needed something to go with it but had NOTHING. No kidney beans, corn, carrots, cucumbers, etc. So croutons were doable and I did them.
I also bent/broke my nail while cleaning this weekend.
See where that bend mark is? Yeah, it bent all the way back to there and then just CRACK!.. Broke off. Curse words were streaming (more than normal). And THAT IS WHY I NEED A REAL JEWELRY HANGER AND NOT A PLASTIC BAIT CASE! Ok, moving on.
Matt and I went to our favorite local Italian restaurant on Sunday night. It’s called Vito’s and it’s right across the street (literally) from the college we went to. We both got these really amazing salads. They are “side salads” and only $5 but they are huge.
We also got iced tea, split a personal size cheese pizza (and only had two baby slices each, and took the rest home, yay for portion control for us!). It was really good. We wanted to try Yogalicious (new yogurt place in town that everyone is going ON AND ON about) but after dinner we were just too full. I don’t feel that guilty about the two slices of cheese pizza because 1. they were seriously tiny and 2. I walked for an hour and a half in the morning. Oh and we got to sit on the patio because it was still nice out. We love to do that. People watchers
Today (Monday) we went to a local salad/pizza joint and PUNISHED the salad bar. Seriously. Matt tried to take a specially angled picture of my plate to make my salad look GINORMOUS.
I don’t know how big the salad really looks, but I pretty much put as much stuff on there as I could… since it’s not unlimited. I’ve got lots of lettuce, bell pepper, red onions, broccoli, croutons, black olives and a bit of dressing. I ate it all. It was amazing. Here’s a less retarded picture of me at lunch.
My creepy cat eyes are scaring me. And as you can see, since I know it’s going to come up in convo/e-mail with those of you who read my blog & talk to on a daily basis, the implants are still pretty high in my chest right now. The Doc said I didn’t have to wear the hideous bra anymore or the strap but I am wearing the strap at night (which he said I could do) in hopes that it helps push those suckers down. Keep yer fingers crossed!
What else did I do? Since I know everyone cares so much. HOUSEWORK. Cleaned my hardwood floors, vacuumed the rugs upstairs, cleaned my kitchen, cleaned the windows with stinky glass cleaned, dusted and polished the furniture, folded and put away all the laundry, washed the dirty clothes, etc, etc, etc. Just one of those work weekends. But I lucked out on not being “fully capable” still because it was hot outside and Matt did all the yard work himself. I usually pull weeds but since I didn’t think that would feel good (my arms are still weird and my boobs can’t take more than an hour or two of work without an hour or two break, oddly enough) he did it all. And he’s SO sunburned. And tired.
My best friend in the whole world also went back into the hospital late Saturday night so Sunday that occupied a good amount of my time.
And because I stay up to all hours on the weekends, I managed to watch all of these over the long weekend:
I will start Season 4 of Entourage as soon as I get off here. Matt is slowly losing interest in Entourage [he was mad they fired Ari as Vince's agent and happened to sleep through the episode where they re-hire him AND made a comment that made me cry laughing--he said that Vince's hair reminded him of the hair of the guy on Full House who says "Have Mercy" (Uncle Jesse).. it just hit me as really funny, guess you had to be there!]. I just had Casino Royale on in the background while I cleaned house on Saturday and the last two movies are two of my ALL TIME FAVORITE movies. They both get freaking funnier every single time I see them. Honestly. Also I love Steve Carrell, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, & Tom Hanks. So that may have something to do with it. And I just love stupid comedies in general.
Oh and remember those gold candlesticks I was complaining about? I painted them black. Haven’t taken pictures of them yet, but that will be sometime later this week.
SO (taking a breath)… what did you all do this weekend?
