Leon

Leon

This is Leon. Leon is our only dog. He is a mini-schnauzer/shihtzu mix (we think) that I found online at our local animal shelter nearly a year ago. He was 7 pounds thinner with really long, dirty hair. He looked just like a street dog and was very very sick. At the time I found him online, we had another dog named Lulu, who was a pit-bull mix. We lived in an apartment and she needed a friend to pass the time during the day. So I found Leon and he was truly a diamond in the rough. When we first brought him home everyone was very skeptical because he was so sick (he had kennel cough non-stop–literally–for two months straight and then had a respertory infection for nearly another two months) and looked so bad. But after we got him healthy, fattened him up and got him a couple of much needed hair cuts, he is now one of the best dogs ever. Granted, I’ve only been around maybe 10 in my life but he’s really the best. He is a little skiddish and weary sometimes but I’m sure that comes from being a little street vagrant for so long. I am, at heart, a cat person because cats require so little–they know where to go the bathroom and they don’t need you to take them, they play with you sometimes but they are fine on their own, and they don’t really make a disturbance or tear things apart. But for Leon I make an exception. He is our only pet so he is very spoiled. We are looking to get another dog (in the future) so he has a play buddy now that we have a rather spacious backyard but no rushing… dogs are so much work.

Do you have a pet? I’d love to hear about it.

If interested, more pics of Leon here, here, and here.

He looks cute. Nice to see you can get him to stay still for photos. My cat Liz Lemon won't stay still at all for photos. Not even if you have the camera in sport mode and she is asleep. She will still move and the photos come out all blurred.

Well… I sort of have to catch him when he's just woken up or when he's in a grumpy mood. Normally he doesn't like to pose. Liz Lemon is a cute name, btw.
