Today was a typical Thursday. All I could think about was 1. my knee healing and 2. it being Friday. Thursday’s are kind of torture in that way, aren’t they? They are just a big pre-Friday tease. Hey Shelby, it’s me, Thursday. I know it’s almost Friday but it’s NOT so you have to stay focused! Ha! Tease and torture Thursday is what the day should really be called.
Today for TTT (yeah, it’s an acronym now, so what!) I had a weird breakfast: 1/2 scoop Chocolate Whey Protein powder, 1/2 cup Multi-grain Cheerios, 1 cup of Nonfat Voskos Greek plain Yogurt, & 4 tablespoons of plain Oats. It took me like, 2 hours to work through it because it was so thick and I wasn’t that hungry. I didn’t finish it all. It looks nast but it was alright. Not the best.
For lunch I had a turkey sandwich on an Orowheat 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich thin with avocado (1 tablespoon), red onion, romaine lettuce, horseradish mustard, and baked tostitos chips. So dang good. SO. DANG. GUUUD.
I brought 1/2 of a nectarine and a cup of nonfat Greek yogurt for an afternoon snack but it didn’t sound good. I didn’t get that hungry this afternoon but I found myself becoming VERY SLEEPY and sometimes a light snack helps with afternoon sleepiness! I opted for a classic, Pink Lady Apple with two tablespoons peanut butter. This apple tasted like candy it was so sweet! Seriously delicious. I can’t wait to have another one tomorrow! Amaze!
If you haven’t had a Pink Lady apple before.. please try one. Please. You will NOT be sorry! They are completely amazing and sweet and are actually best ice cold by themselves! But you know me, I put that PB on everythang
Dinner was leftovers night. Why? Because I was exhausted today, my knee is bummin’ me out and I had a boat load of lemon pepper chicken left over. So we had lemon pepper chicken on veggie beans with Chipotle Tabasco on corn tortillas with avocado and tostitos. Not the healthiest, especially since I got no cardio in today, but they so totally hit the spot. No joke.
And if you’ve never tried the mild (in a green bottle) Chipotle Tabasco then you are missing out you should most def try it! It’s not that hot and it’s got AMAZE flavor! And this is coming from a girl that really stays away from the spicy foods! Trust me on this one, too! Just don’t eat the Pink Lady and Tabasco together!
Dessert called my name on a day like this.
Remember when I went to Costco and got a multi-flavored box of Kashi bars? Well, they make a powerful pre-run snack but they also make one heck-of-uh dessert when mixed with PB, AB, or Nutella. And you only need 1/2 tablespoon of the latter! Perfection.
My knee is still bumpin’, if you hadn’t picked up on that already in this post. Bumpin’ like I can’t even go for a light walk til it does it’s business and heals! So tonight Matt and I got some ice cream–we’re bad, we know it–and now we’re layin’ low. I looked a mess when I woke up this morning (see day 24 pic below) so tonight I’m really going to try and get some quality sleepage in!
Yeah… I run through wind-tunnels at night, don’t you??
Aside from being STOKED that tomorrow is Friday, here are some things I’m am so totally looking forward to next week:
- Getting my shipment of new running attire from Champion USA. What did I snag? You can read about that here.. but basically I’m just super excited about getting two of these amazing running tanks:
- I didn’t tell you guys this but… I placed a special order to Bondi Band! I’m waiting for my shipment as I type this… I am dedicating a WHOLE post to Bondi Band & maybe, just maybe, there will be a little giveaway to go with it.. who knows
- The end to my first (non-health/exercise related, haha) giveaway! That’s right. It ends next Wednesday at 8:00pm so GO ENTER NOW!!
- Getting back to RUNNING once my knee heals this weekend (<–I’m mentally forcing it to heal!)
