I (creatively) named the title of this post “Apple Tuna 2 Salt Day” because today I: ate two apples (thus, Apple), had tuna for lunch, ONLY ran 2 loops after work (when I had planned on running 3) and the hubster and I are going to go see the new Angelina Jolie movie SALT after dinner tonight. Stupid, I know, but way less boring than “Monday and what I did”, right?
For breakfast this morning I had a pink lady apple cut up with my Fage Nonfat Greek Yogurt:
Where did the second apple of the day come in, you ask?? About an hour before lunch I was getting super hungry so I cut up a Fuji apple (smaller than the breakfast apple) and melted one tablespoon of PB on it. Majorly yummy snack. But I really need to get my hands on some Peanut Butter & Co. flavored peanut butter that I hear so much about over at Katie’s blog. Hmm, maybe they’ll hook it up with a free sample?
We’ll see.
Then for lunch I made a can of Chunk Light Tuna packed in water with: 1/2 of a cucumber, 1/4 of a red onion, a handful of lettuce and one tablespoon light Mayo. Yes, yes, I NEED to give up the light mayo I just don’t like my Tuna without it! Anyway, I ate the tuna salad with two pieces of whole wheat toast:
It was quite a filling and nom-tacular lunch. After eating, my friend and I ran to Costco to get a few things. I came home with 1-24 pack box of Clif bars, 1-16 pack box of Kashi granola bars, 1 pack (16 cans) of chunk light tuna (the big 2.5 serving cans!), and a box of single serving Baked Lays (4 different flavors- 30 bags). A good trip! I still need to go to the normal (not humungoloidus sized) grocery store for veggies, fruit, yogurt & soymilk.. Anyway, I got a little hungry around 3pm so I had a Kashi Peanut Peanut Butter granola bar with a tall iced coffee and it did the trick. I was glad I bought those bars at Costco because there were chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen at work. Yikes!
Then I came home and went for a 2.25 mile run. I ran for 19:59:02 which means my run this afternoon in the heat was quicker than my run on Saturday night. Weird! It felt good, but I was really hot and halfway through the second loop I got a major toe cramp! I suffered through (trying to sprint the rest of the way) but stopped at two. I’m pretty bummed because I wanted to do 3 loops (3.36 miles) but it just wasn’t in the cards.
I realize to lose weight at the rate I want to lose it, I’m going to need more than 20 minutes of outdoor running per day. We are actively looking at elliptical machines, so that after I run a few miles I can come inside and do some low-to-no impact cardio for another half to full hour. Once I lose some chunk and build some strength’n'stamina, I should be able to throw down 4 miles in one run no problem. Can I just fast forward to that time, please?
And before I go, I’ll leave you with this awesomeness: I got some new flower hair clips last week and tried ‘em out today. Are they rad or what?
Oh and, have a “peace”ful Monday night
XOXO, Shelby
